Coaching and peer groups

Coaching and peer groups are work-led group processes where sharing among peers is central. Expert-led encounters are structured around both personal and shared reflection on topics closely related to working life. Membership of Teme is required to participate in the groups.

The aim and benefits of participating in a coaching group

In the coaching and peer group, you can get peer support and resources for coping at work. The group provides an opportunity for professional development and well-being support, as well as a chance to look at your own work from different perspectives.

A comparison of the results of the 2024 coaching group surveys showed that the work performance of coaching and peer group participants, several measures of ability, and energy at work all improved during participation in the groups. Peer support helped to reflect on their own situation and provided an opportunity to learn from the experiences of others. Their professional identity and appreciation of their own skills were strengthened and the group provided an opportunity to look at the arts as part of the fabric of society.

How does the group work in practice?

The group’s work is structured around guided introductions, exercises and discussions. There will be five meetings. It is important for the group process that the participant is able to attend all meetings in principle, but it is understandable that offers of work after registration have to be taken up. The meetings will be held remotely or at Teme’s premises at Hakaniemi, John Stenberg Beach 6.

For whom?

Guided coaching and peer groups are for Teme members who are freelancers, entrepreneurs or grant holders. Unemployed or part-time workers are also welcome. The groups are free of charge and facilitated by Heidi Naakka, a freelance Teme expert, dance artist and psychic coach for artists.
